Scott founded Onda Origins with his brother Paul, and leads the verifiable bean to cup experience for customers. Scott is pioneering the use of blockchain to create transparency for customers, who can see exactly where their coffee comes from, and for growers to get maximum revenue out of every bean they produce. Through Yave, his second start-up and the technology platform that makes blockchain traceability possible, he is bringing in partners across the value chain.
His journey was influenced by his former research post in Samoa, where a government-funded development project failed because no one spoke with the local community first. Scott was inspired to create a business model that invested in people, rather than mandated solutions for them.
